Pet Care

WHAT KIND OF ANIMALS DO YOU CARE FOR?

I care for most animals, as long as they don’t pose a danger to the pet sitter. I do not care for any animals that have a history of biting, fighting or attacking other animals or people. Check my services page to see all that I offer!

Why should I hire a Pet Sitter?

Many pet experts believe that keeping pets in their own familiar surroundings helps alleviate fear, anxiety, and stress imposed when their pets have to leave home. Your pets deserve personalized one-on-one attention. Your pets are more likely to be calm, relaxed and happy when they can keep their routine consistent. Their chances of contracting a disease or parasites is greatly decreased.

What services do you offer?

Stay and Play offers customized in-your-home care to meet your pet’s needs and your desires. We offer drop-in visits, pet sitting for a few consecutive hours, dog walking, or live-in overnights when you travel, work late, are recovering from surgery, or are not home for an array of reasons.

Do you provide treats?

Yes unless you specify that your pet is on a strict diet, has allergies, or has health conditions that it would be safer to avoid this. Otherwise, we love spoiling pets will all natural, additive-free treats from Life's Abundance. https://bit.ly/BestDogTreatsInTheWorld

How do I know what is going on while I am away?

The sitter will send you videos, pictures, texts, etc. to keep you up to date on your pet’s well-being and your home’s status.

Do you administer medications?

Yes as prescribed by the doctor and as directed by you. I have veterinary experience, so I am very comfortable with gentle administration of oral and injectable meds. None of Stay and Play’s employees will prescribe medication but can make natural remedy suggestions to use in addition to Western Medicine to decrease healing time.

Do you care for pets that do not get along with other pets?

Yes! Because we only care for one household at a time. If the pets within the same house do not get along, we will do our best to keep them separate. We do not bring our pets into your home or take them to the dog park. If they must go to the vet, they will enter through the back entrance and we will do everything to accommodate their needs.

If you do Reiki on my pet, do you have any guarantees?

It is done with good intentions and love and can have no negative side effects. However, we cannot guarantee the results of the treatment. Some results they may experience include a calm and relaxed demeanor. Just think of it as a loving meditation done with your pets. Link to website: https://www.animalreikisource.com/

How do you discipline the pets in your care?

Stay and Play believes in positive reinforcement only. We will not discipline your pet since we want to maintain our bond with him/her. We understand that in this situation your pet may feel afraid, so we utilize tools such as calming music, soothing voice tones, gentle care, spoiling with treats, etc. to make this an awesome staycation for them!

What happens if my pet becomes ill or injured during care?

We will inform you of unusual behavior and have open communication with you and your vet as needed. We transport the pet to your vet of choice and wait with them, talk to the doctor, administer meds, and transport home. We will call emergency contacts if we cannot reach you. If we cannot reach you for payment and there is no credit card on file, we will have the veterinarian proceed with services that cost no more than a total of $1500. Please reimburse us within one week.
